Monday Morning Hair
A Tricolored (or Louisiana) Heron in breeding plumage shakes it all off, with the start of a new week, in undisguised fabulousness in our protected wetlands. While I say “Monday Morning Hair,” this is definitely a daily occurrence for me.

I’m so lucky, I know… They’re just glorious! Especially in their magnificent breeding plumage. Their blues are all that more brilliant, among the Tricoloreds. 🙂

They’re such wonderful little herons, these Tricolored guys… Such cute personalities and so very beautiful. Blue is one of my favorite colors, so I’m especially partial to them! 🙂

The wading birds have the fiercest talons and bills — it’s amazing to see them close-up. The look so very delicate and sweet, but underneath it all, they’re sublime hunters.
Honestly, you’re one of the best at capturing the inner “essence of bird”. However beautiful (or not) the exterior, you seem to be able to show the light in the eye that says, “Yes, I’m here, and I know you’re here, and I’ve decided to allow you into my world.”
What an incredibly kind and thoughtful thing to say…. AS ALWAYS you have such a beautiful way with words. And these made my week, my month!
